About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Barnet. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and will provide inclusive and personalised assistance within a mainstream secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with individual students or small groups to provide tailored support and assistance with academic and social development
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to implement personalised learning plans
  • Create and maintain a nurturing and inclusive environment that supports the diverse needs of students with SEN
  • Foster positive relationships with students, offering patience, empathy, and understanding in all interactions
  • Utilise a range of strategies to facilitate learning and engage students with different learning styles and abilities
  • Contribute to the monitoring and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in review meetings
Requirements
  • Prior experience in a SEN support role or a strong interest in working with students with diverse learning needs
  • A First Class degree from a Top University
  • A strong academic background before a Bachelor's Degree
  • A degree in Psychology or a related field is desirable
  • Knowledge of SEN best practices and strategies for supporting students with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff, and parents
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students with SEN
