Primary SEND Teaching Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Primary SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Barnet. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with SEND, including those with Autism Spectrum Condition, Speech and Communication Difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering learning activities for individuals and groups of students.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and assess, record, and report on their achievement, progress, and development.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, and family members.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including CAMHS, the School Nursing Service, and Early Help and Social Care teams.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
