About the Role
We are seeking a Passenger Assistant to join our Travel Service team at Swindon Borough Council. As a Passenger Assistant, you will be responsible for the direct supervision of Children & Young People (CYP) travelling on Special Needs and Social Care Transport. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the safety, safeguarding, and well-being of passengers during their journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise CYP during transport, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Establish a rapport and build relationships with passengers and their parents and carers
- Provide emotional support and manage challenging situations
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth transportation operations
Requirements
- Ability to establish a rapport with passengers and their families
- Patience and calm disposition in challenging situations
- Emotional resilience and ability to manage difficult situations
- Flexibility to cover routes at short notice
