Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our Travel Service team as a Casual Passenger Assistant. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, safeguarding, and well-being of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) who travel on special needs and social care transport.

About the Role

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication skills, patience, and a calm disposition. You will be responsible for establishing positive relationships with passengers, their parents, and carers, and ensuring that each individual receives the support they need during their journey.

You will receive comprehensive training, including basic paediatric first aid, behaviour management, and safeguarding. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children and young people, promoting independence and enabling them to travel safely and independently across Swindon.

Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and calm disposition
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with passengers, parents, and carers
