Job Title: Healthcare Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and organized Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at The Whalebridge Practice in Swindon. As a key member of our Clinical Admin Team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. You will be required to work shifts within these opening times, with rosters planned at least a month in advance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to all clinical areas of the company.
  • Be the first point of contact for patients and assist them in accessing the services they need.
  • Action incoming and outgoing data through electronic transfer, email, SMS messages, or post.
  • Administer the recall system for patients with long-term conditions and monitor the uptake of all screening programs.
  • Apply clinical coding to patient records as appropriate and update the Open Exeter system.
  • Maintain waiting lists of patients for specialist clinics and ensure they receive appropriate appointments.
  • Process referrals in accordance with national timelines and liaise with the referral management centre as necessary.
  • Action requests for medical reports, including liaison with patients to confirm consent and finance to confirm payment.
  • Action Subject Access Requests in line with GDPR legislation.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with the General Data Protection Regulations when processing personal data.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A basic education and English Language GCSE at grade C or above or equivalent.
  • Excellent keyboard skills and experience of working with Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and experience of managing an email account.
  • Confidence in speaking to people both in person and on the telephone.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change, prioritizing workload and demonstrating a commitment to personal development.
  • Experience of working in a team and face-to-face or telephone contact with the public.

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience.
