Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Tenant Liaison Officer Specialist to join our team at Setsquare Recruitment. This is a Temp-Perm assignment with a Top Tier Contractor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing information and support to tenants and leaseholders whose homes are affected by major works. The post holder will work closely with contractors and residents to ensure that procedures for communicating and consulting demonstrate Best Value.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with contractors to set the standard for engaging with residents.
  • Develop, agree, and manage resident consultation plans for individual projects.
  • Coordinate temporary or permanent re-housing of residents, where necessary.
  • Advise Project Managers on the effects of capital works on residents.
  • Provide information and assistance to leaseholders on their obligations to contribute to the cost of major works through service charge payments.
  • Liaise with contractors, external agencies, and Home Group staff to secure satisfactory outcomes.
  • Ensure insurance claims and other claims submitted by residents are processed efficiently.
  • Initiate and manage legal action against individual tenants and/or leaseholders where necessary.
  • Participate in the development of capital projects as a project team member.
  • Advise Project Managers of any issues affecting the project.
  • Design and carry out social surveys prior to the commencement of major projects.
  • Establish and maintain customer feedback/complaints procedures for each project.
  • Communicate information on vulnerable residents or those posing a risk in line with policy.
  • Identify vulnerable residents within programmes and provide adequate provision for their needs long term.
  • Undertake resident satisfaction surveys following the completion of capital projects, including analysis.
  • Assist in implementing the Best Value Action Plan for the HRA Capital Programme.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of current developments in housing policy and customer service.
  • Experience of working in social housing, local government, or customer-service environment.
  • Experience of working with tenants and leaseholders whose homes are undergoing major building works.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to plan own work in a logical way without close supervision.
