Job Description

Holden Jones Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our finance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing management and financial accounts to support our Finance Director, ensuring the integrity of all processes leading to them, whilst adding value through analysis and commentary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Management Accounts: Deliver accurate and timely management accounts and supporting information each month and to review with the relevant Senior Management Team.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Partner all budget holders to produce final budget schedules for board approval, manage forecasting and 6-monthly review process.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide management information, analysis, backup and assistance to enable effective and informed decision making.
  • Statutory Accounts: Support the Finance Director in producing the statutory accounts and Annual Report.
  • Reconciliations and Returns: Balance sheet reconciliations, produce quarterly VAT returns for the Group.
  • Day-to-Day Transactions: Manage the day-to-day transactions, overseeing one Accounts Assistant, including income processing, bank account management, purchase & sales ledger and cashflow.

Experience of management and financial accounting in a similar role in a small to medium-sized organisation is essential, with proven skills in financial analysis, modelling and budgeting/forecasting. You should have the ability to organise your own time and that of team members effectively, prioritising workload to meet deadlines. Communicating effectively to a wide audience and being able to present complex financial information in a meaningful and accessible way to non-finance colleagues will be a key strength of the successful applicant. You must also be a car driver for accessibility.
