About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Administrative Coordinator to join our team at the Gambling Commission. As a key member of our secretariat function, you will play a crucial role in supporting our casework and investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to our casework and investigations team, including planning, resourcing, monitoring, reporting, and risk management.
  • Attend meetings and provide administrative support, including drafting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Liaise with internal colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Assist in the delivery of quality assurance, including monitoring the delivery of case files and actions arising from meetings.
  • Work to tight deadlines and targets while managing a demanding administrative workload.
  • Arrange high-volume meetings at short notice.
  • Update action/tracker logs and tasks, and monitor numerous Outlook inboxes.
  • Proofread and prepare letters to support our casework and investigations team.
  • Provide support to Directors in Operations when required.
  • Assist with the monitoring and administration of illegal markets and criminal work.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects.

Person Specification

  • Experience of administrative work.
  • Experience of minute or note taking.
  • Ability to learn quickly and think laterally to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to recognize and manage priorities.
  • Ability to monitor workflows and allocate work based on existing caseload.
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the Commission and strengthen existing relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working to tight deadlines and targets and managing a demanding administrative workload.
  • Accurate typing ability.
  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the internet, and Outlook to an intermediate level.
  • Audiotyping experience.
  • Ability to work and communicate with the team and manager in a confident manner.
