Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Housing Benefit Liaison Senior Officer to join our team at Capita. This role is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to utilize their expertise in benefits administration and stakeholder management.

Job Description

In this position, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, providing coaching and mentoring to assessment officers, and conducting quality checks on staff members.

You will need to have experience working in a benefits environment and a solid understanding of regulations related to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

This is a remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to all enquiries within agreed timescales, delegating as needed to the relevant team for urgent attention and feedback.
  • Provide assistance and guidance through coaching and mentoring to newly appointed and existing assessment officers as required.
  • Conduct pre-assessment and assessment quality checking duties.
  • Undertake Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support Assessments.
  • Encourage and participate in additional activities and projects as requested by the Line Manager such as cold reports and system testing.
  • Raise any issues that may affect the contract with the Line Manager and/or Benefits.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a Housing Benefits/Council Tax Support environment.
  • Excellent customer care and written/verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Housing Benefits/Council Tax Support legislation.
