Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Bank Bookings Administrator. As a key member of our Bookings Department, you will be responsible for providing an efficient administrative service, working with established policies and processes to ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make patient bookings in outpatient clinics and/or inpatient admissions, cancel, update and re-schedule as necessary
  • Accurately register, enter and process bookings into SAP and send out relevant correspondence
  • Liaise with consultants and their secretaries on a daily basis
  • Deal with patient referrals from GP surgeries in a timely manner, including documenting all incoming correspondence
  • Deal with medical secretary requests relevant to bookings in a timely manner
  • Answer incoming enquiries promptly, including telephone and emails
  • Liaise with outpatient staff directly to organize the diary and the booking of clinic rooms
  • Take payment over the telephone for self-pay admissions using the Streamline machine
  • Process NHS referrals, including direct listings, ERS, clinical ordering and rejecting where necessary. Input information into IEP spreadsheet, scan and create green files
  • Book follow-up appointments and ensure rules about re-booking and DNAs are followed
  • Prepare clinic notes for NHS patients, request notes from medical records and send clinic lists to relevant consultants
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a similar role in a healthcare setting
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, Excel
  • Able to prioritize workload to ensure key deadlines and services are met
  • Experience of working independently and on own initiative
