Job Description:
Role Overview

The Patient Transport Liaison Officer will be an integral part of our team at Leicester Hospitals, providing a vital link between hospitals and our operations team. This role will cover various locations, including general, LRI, and Glenfield hospitals, as well as community hospitals.


Main Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalation and patient queries, ensuring effective communication and resolution.
  • Collaborate with bed managers and EMED managers to optimize patient flows and resolve operational issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with hospital wards, outpatient units, discharge lounges, and other key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to site and bed meetings to understand hospital demands and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist operational managers with daily issues and ensure seamless communication between teams.
  • Provide on-site presence to foster an integrated approach and ensure the PTLO is a key player in overall patient flow.
  • Attend meetings as required and maintain accurate records of discussions and agreements.

Requirements

  • Commitment to patient care and well-being.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Thorough knowledge of Non-Emergency Patient Transport services.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to make informed decisions based on impact assessment.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence with less than 6 penalty points and be physically fit for patient moving and handling.
