Job Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
  2. Processing personal and telephone appointments, including internal and external
  3. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls, or dealing with callers' requests appropriately
  4. Signposting patients to the correct service
  5. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
  6. Reading code data on SystmOne
  7. Photocopying documentation as required
  8. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  9. Inputting data into patients' healthcare records as necessary
  10. Directing requests for information, such as SAR, insurance, or solicitors' letters, and DVLA forms to the administrative team
  11. Managing all queries efficiently
  12. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and effective working area at all times
  13. Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
  14. Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
  15. Scanning patient-related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients' healthcare records, dealing with document workflow
  16. Processing repeat prescriptions accurately and efficiently
  17. Checking fridge temperature, dealing with vaccinations according to the cold chain policy
  18. Handling patient samples
  19. Processing referrals as doctors require
  20. Processing all posts
  21. Recalling patients to support QOF performance
  22. Registering and deducting patients, pulling out and filing medical notes

Secondary Responsibilities

  1. Completing opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
  2. Informing staff who orders stationery supplies and monitoring the stock

Requirements

  1. GCSE level or equivalent
  2. Experience of working with the general public
  3. Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  4. Strong IT skills
