The Children's Services is seeking a Volunteer Liaison Officer to work with us at our Child Contact Centres. This role involves supporting families through a difficult time and helping them maintain a positive relationship with their children.

As a Volunteer Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating positive interactions between parents and children, providing emotional support, and ensuring the well-being of all parties involved.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Families Support and Care: Meet and greet residents and non-residents, facilitate positive interactions, and support the family's understanding of the process.
  • Child Care and Hygiene: Assist with tasks such as nappy changing and feeding.
  • Refreshments and Confidentiality: Provide refreshments and adhere to policy guidelines on confidentiality, health and safety, child protection, and equality and diversity.
  • Venue Setup and Safety Checks: Ensure the venue is set up and conduct health and safety checks and risk assessments before each session.

Requirements:

  • Availability on Saturday mornings
  • Good sense of humour
  • Ability to remain impartial and confidential
  • Basic training will be provided

Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated Salary: £32,000 per annum, dependent on location and experience, plus travel expenses can be claimed.
