**University of Leicester Job Opportunity:**

About the Position

We are seeking an exceptional Academic Support Specialist to join our team at the University of Leicester. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project LIGHT initiative, a pioneering staff-student partnership within the Leicester Medical School.

Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate between academic leads, placement partners, student volunteers, and host charities. You will schedule volunteer placements, maintain a database of active volunteers, and ensure seamless communication with charities.

In addition to these administrative tasks, you will mentor students, fostering relationships that support their development and the success of Project LIGHT's outreach efforts. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the continued impact and operational success of Project LIGHT, as well as enriching the student experience in line with the University's values.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate between academic leads, placement partners, student volunteers, and host charities
  • Schedule volunteer placements and maintain a database of active volunteers
  • Ensure seamless communication with charities
  • Mentor students and foster relationships that support their development

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Substantial experience in a similar administrative setting
  • A strong customer service ethos and skills in managing databases
  • Familiarity with external stakeholder engagement and experience in providing administrative support in a busy environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

Working with Us:

This part-time (0.3FTE, 10.5 hours per week) permanent position offers:
