Leicester, Leicester, United Kingdom University of Leicester Full time
About the Role

The University of Leicester is embarking on its first large-scale, multi-year fundraising campaign, and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Philanthropy Manager to join our Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO). This exciting campaign will support transformative projects across the University, driving change and impact in society.

As a key member of DARO, you will play a strategic role in developing the major gift philanthropic giving strategy at the University. You will inspire the Major Gifts team to meet ambitious targets by building a comprehensive programme of funding applications from high-net-worth individuals, companies, charitable trusts, and foundations.

Your experience as a successful major gift fundraiser from a mixed portfolio of donors will be essential in communicating the vision and purpose of DARO within the context of this campaign. You will line-manage two Philanthropy Managers (Major Gifts) and a Legacy Officer, overseeing their day-to-day work. We expect you to be composed, collaborative, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking for someone with excellent relationship-building and organisational skills, able to confidently engage with senior individuals internally and externally. You must have exceptional oral and written communication skills, bringing a solution-focused approach to opportunities and challenges. Your strong understanding of philanthropy principles and practices, coupled with exceptional management skills, will drive success in this role.

Our salary for this position is estimated at £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The vacancy terms include full-time or job share, permanent employment.
