Job Description

The Patient Services Officer will be responsible for providing administrative support to the outpatient department, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of patient services. This will include receiving, processing, and actioning validation responses, managing telephone calls, and cancelling or rearranging appointments as required.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that patients are accurately removed from waiting lists and notified accordingly. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, clinicians, and administrative staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • To manage and coordinate patient communications, ensuring timely and effective engagement.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, using data to inform decision-making and drive improvements.
  • To collaborate with clinical teams to develop and implement process improvements, reducing delays and improving patient outcomes.
  • To identify and address any issues or concerns, escalating to senior staff as necessary.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, healthcare management).
  • At least 2 years' experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £26,000-£31,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and training opportunities.
