About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Forensic Specialist Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Specialist Community Forensic Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with complex needs.

Job Description
  • Fulfilling the Community Responsible Clinician responsibility for patients accepted into the service will be a major component of this post.
  • The post holder will have a flexible job plan to provide outpatient or community clinics and home visits.
  • They will participate in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, risk reviews and providing clinical leadership and Responsible Clinician role.
  • The role will include outpatient or community clinics, emergency home visits, liaising with forensic support services, attending professional meetings and any other activities involved in delivery of clinical care to the forensic learning disability and or autistic spectrum disorder patients.
Key Requirements

To succeed in this challenging yet rewarding role, you will need:

  • A CCT in Psychiatry and eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register;
  • Extensive experience of assessing and treating individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism;
  • Knowledge of alternatives to inpatient admission care approaches;
  • Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Able to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and lead effectively;
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a culture of excellence within the trust.

We offer a competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum (pro rata), plus 10% R&R (non-contractual). You will also enjoy a range of benefits, including access to our employee wellbeing programme and opportunities for professional development and growth.
