About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in learning disabilities and forensic psychiatry to join our Specialist Community Forensic Team. As a key member of the team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric services, including Approved Clinician provision, risk assessments, and management of patients on your caseload.

This is a part-time position with a total of 6 PAs, including a SPA of 1.5 sessions per week. You will work collaboratively with in-patient services to reduce length of stay, support step-down and recovery in the community, and apply proactive risk management approaches to enable service users to achieve their goals.

You will be responsible for fulfilling Community Responsible Clinician responsibilities, providing outpatient or community clinics and home visits, and participating in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, and risk reviews. You will also liaise with forensic support services, attend professional meetings, and deliver clinical care to forensic learning disability and autistic spectrum disorder patients.

  • Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating individuals with learning disabilities and autism
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £106,111 per annum, pro rata, based on the location and the level of responsibility.
