London, Greater London, United Kingdom North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Welcome to Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, a leading provider of mental health and specialist services in the North West. We are currently seeking an experienced Forensic Psychiatrist to join our team as a Consultant Psychiatrist within our Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT).

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to work with individuals with learning disabilities and or autism who have offended or are at risk of offending. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care through comprehensive psychiatric services, including risk assessments, management, and therapeutic interventions.

The role requires close collaboration with in-patient services to reduce length of stay, support step-down and recovery in the community, and apply proactive risk management approaches to enable service users to achieve their goals. You will also participate in regular Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, and risk reviews.

We are looking for an individual with excellent clinical skills, using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge. You should possess strong oral and written communication skills in English, as well as knowledge of alternatives to inpatient admission care approaches.

About Our Organisation

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust serves over 1.4 million people across the North West, providing specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health. Our commitment to 'perfect care' drives everything we do, ensuring safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable, and efficient care for our patients.

As part of our team, you can expect a supportive and inclusive environment, flexible working arrangements, and opportunities for continuous professional development. We celebrate diversity, promote equal opportunities, and take positive action to support disadvantaged groups.

What We Offer
  • A competitive salary of £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, pro rata, plus 10% R&R (non-contractual)
  • An attractive benefits package, including pension schemes, life assurance, and access to employee discounts
  • The opportunity to work with a dynamic team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care
  • Support for professional development and continuous education
