Job Title: Director of Talent Acquisition and Learning

At Training Ground Guru, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Talent Acquisition and Learning team. As a key member of our Academy staff, you will be responsible for identifying and recruiting top talent for our youth teams, while also developing and implementing strategies to enhance the learning and development of our players.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the identification and recruitment process for talented players aged 16-21 for Southampton Football Club and the wider Sport Republic network.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the UK talent market, including key target regions and recruitment markets.
  • Utilize data and video sources to identify additional players of interest and track talent consideration for acquisition.
  • Attend and coordinate live game coverage, video scouting, and international and club tournaments to identify and recruit top talent.
  • Lead a robust recruitment process for targeted players and trialists, working closely with Academy staff and attending trials and signings.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality player packs for the Football Leadership Team and Player Presentations for target acquisition players.
  • Contribute to the continuous professional development of Talent Acquisition Scouts and Academy Recruitment staff.
Requirements:
  • Scouting and recruitment experience working in a similar role within the UK.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the UK talent market between 16-21 years old.
  • Ability to turnaround high-quality work with tight deadlines.
  • Experience or knowledge of African, European, and other talent markets.
