Position Overview:

Priory Hospital Southampton is seeking a dedicated HR and Resourcing Lead to deliver expert support and guidance to the management team regarding the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures. This role is crucial in ensuring consistent employment practices across the site. The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for all employees, managing workflows to guarantee that HR administrative tasks are executed accurately and punctually. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be deadline-oriented, and be capable of presenting HR data to senior management as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment:

  • Collaborate with senior management and department heads to identify and develop strategies for attracting high-quality candidates.
  • Coordinate with the Central Talent Acquisition team to establish effective recruitment methods.
  • Ensure adherence to the recruitment process, facilitating timely candidate screening by appropriate managers.
  • Oversee the onsite HR team, including a HR Administrator and Finance Administrator.

Onboarding:

  • Partner with the Central Onboarding team to ensure timely processing and onboarding of new hires.
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the onboarding process to collect necessary documentation promptly.

Compliance & Training:

  • Monitor and manage DBS and professional accreditation renewals throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements for all staff, achieving site targets.
  • Organize and schedule training sessions as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Central Learning & Development team and external providers to offer necessary courses.

Employee Engagement & Retention:

  • Support the completion of colleague engagement surveys to enhance response rates and employee satisfaction.
  • Work closely with site management to implement action plans based on survey results.
  • Assist the Hospital Director in organizing regular meetings and ensuring representation at local and regional levels.
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing employees to gather insights and identify trends.

Absence Management & Employee Relations:

  • Ensure adherence to absence management policies for both short-term and long-term absences.
  • Identify and address high absence levels in collaboration with managers.
  • Facilitate return-to-work interviews following employee absences.
  • Engage with the Regional HR team for guidance on absence-related issues.
  • Advise managers on Occupational Health referrals as necessary.

Documentation & General Duties:

  • Manage the onsite Resourcing & HR team effectively.
  • Ensure all employee documentation is accurately recorded, maintained, and stored.
  • Create and maintain personnel files for employees.
  • Assist in the administration of investigations, grievances, and other HR processes as directed by Regional HR.
  • Take minutes during meetings when appropriate.
  • Provide payroll support as needed.
