About Us

Chester Zoo is a leading wildlife conservation charity dedicated to protecting animals and their habitats. Our Youth Board plays a vital role in supporting our mission, and we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Young People's Programme Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new programmes and events for 12-25 year olds, working closely with our education and community teams.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow Youth Board members, helping them to achieve their goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the annual Youth Summit, working closely with our events team to ensure its success.
  • Represent Chester Zoo at external events and meetings, promoting our work and building relationships with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Aged 18 to 26 years old when you start your role.
  • Enthusiastic about working with the zoo to create new programmes for young people.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel easily to Chester Zoo to attend events and/or meetings.
  • Commitment to attending 6 Youth Board meetings each year and to being part of the Youth Board for a minimum of two years from appointment.

Salary Information

The salary for this role is £22,500 per annum, based on a full-time schedule. Please note that this is a voluntary position, and we do not offer a salary or benefits package.
