Job Title: Flight Data Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Data Specialist to join our team at L3Harris Technologies. As a Flight Data Specialist, you will play a critical role in processing and analyzing flight data to provide valuable insights to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform flight data readouts using advanced tools and software
  • Develop and maintain logical frame layouts (LFLs) for flight data monitoring programs
  • Support customers in configuring and setting up their flight data monitoring programs
  • Version control and release updated LFLs to the system
  • Assist in processing and converting flight data in various formats
  • Prepare reports on recording quality of aircraft sensors
  • Support other teams on matters related to recorded parameters and data recording issues

Secondary Tasks:

  • Identify bugs or inefficiencies in the system and collaborate with the software development team to find solutions
  • Reverse-engineer flight data files
  • Review abnormal recorded data and determine the cause
  • Provide support and guidance to customers on data recording matters
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for analysis or data supply
  • Demonstrate and promote industry best practices

Requirements:

  • Understanding of binary encoded data and ability to work with data at the lowest levels
  • Appreciation of large matrix mathematics
  • Customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of ARINC standards and data acquisition units
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work at pace
