Position Overview

As a Senior Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in our Flight Data Services team, which is dedicated to providing outsourced Flight Data Monitoring services to aircraft operators globally. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and efficiency of aviation operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand software development needs.
  • Design, implement, and enhance features based on customer feedback, adhering to established quality standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance and improvement of software systems and applications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize JIRA for effective task management and workload organization.
  • Apply agile methodologies and test-driven development principles in your work.
  • Deliver training on internally developed software systems to both internal and external users.
  • Ensure timely software releases that meet quality expectations and follow established procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and quality assurance processes.
  • Manage customer communications regarding incidents and support tickets.
  • Design and update software databases, including applications and user interfaces.
  • Conduct testing and recommend enhancements for optimal software performance.
  • Independently install and integrate commercial software solutions.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for system issues.
  • Identify opportunities for system performance improvements.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges and develop specifications for projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage client expectations and project timelines.
  • Proactive and responsible work ethic with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Expertise in Python programming and familiarity with the Django framework.
  • Experience with additional Python frameworks such as NumPy or Pandas.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud technologies is advantageous.
  • Proficient in version control systems like Git.
  • Experience working in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
