Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Manager to join our team at Planet Education Networks. As HR Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the HR Function, providing advice and guidance to the Company's leadership team and business managers on employment issues.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing expert advice on HR matters, including recruitment, selection, disciplinary, grievance, and employee relations.
  2. Coaching and advising managers on performance issues and conflict resolution.
  3. Collaborating with the management team and Board to provide guidance on HR issues.
  4. Developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies to ensure compliance and meet business needs.
  5. Advising on compensation and benefits.
  6. Delivering training to line managers on key HR topics.
  7. Managing all aspects of HR operations, including policy, processes, and people initiatives.
  8. Overseeing pre-employment checks for new starters.
  9. Consulting with other departments and managers on projects and completing other HR-related tasks.
  10. Reviewing and improving HR policies and processes to support business objectives.
  11. Developing a positive office culture and ensuring best practices align with the company's strategy.
  12. Maintaining long-term sickness and developing strategies to mitigate its impact.
  13. Managing personnel administration, including payroll, pension, reward, and communication.
  14. Ensuring legal compliance in HR management.
  15. Liaising with HMRC/Home Office on compliance reviews and investigations.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum HR degree or CIPD Level 5 or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in HR, preferably in the education sector.
  • Strong employment relations experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with HR data, metrics, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage employee remuneration and incentive systems.
  • Solid understanding of employment and contractual law.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational and decision-making skills.
  • A dynamic part of a high-performing team.

  • Capacity for change and flexibility.
  • Experience working with diverse employees.

Estimated Salary Range: £45K - £50K (dependent on work experience)
