Job Title: Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, support, and advice to children and families/carers under the care of the paediatric trauma and orthopaedic service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients and their families/carers throughout all aspects of the care pathway.
  • Work with the multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic, high-quality, evidence-based care to children and their families with trauma/orthopaedic conditions.
  • Provide leadership, clinical expertise, education, and support to patients and their families/carers, hospital-based professionals, and colleagues in community settings.
  • Be actively involved in audit and research.
Requirements:
  • Current NMC Registration.
  • 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject, willing to undertake/working towards.
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing.
  • Qualification/Short course in Asthma management.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Appropriate post-registration experience in paediatric asthma nursing.
  • Proven commitment and experience in teaching.
  • Appropriate proven leadership and management experience.
  • Experience of undertaking research or audit.
  • Evidence of commitment to research-based practice or evidence of project work undertaken.
  • Experience as a preceptor/mentor.
