Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedics
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic team. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical care, support, and advice to children and families/carers under the care of the paediatric trauma and orthopaedic service. The role involves working alongside the established team of Band 7/6 Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Nurse Specialists to provide holistic, high-quality, evidence-based care to children and their families with trauma/orthopaedic conditions.

Main Responsibilities:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients and their families/carers throughout all aspects of the care pathway. This includes working with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high-quality care, providing leadership, clinical expertise, education, and support to patients and their families/carers, hospital-based professionals, and community settings. The post-holder will also be actively involved in audit and research.

Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
  1. RN(Child) or relevant children's qualification
  2. Current NMC Registration
  3. 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject, willing to undertake/working towards
  4. Qualification in Teaching and Assessing
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Qualification/Short course in Asthma management
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
  1. Appropriate post-registration experience in paediatric asthma nursing
  2. Proven commitment and experience, evidence in teaching
Desirable:
  1. Appropriate proven leadership and management experience
  2. Experience of undertaking research or audit
  3. Evidence of commitment to research-based practice or evidence of project work undertaken
  4. Experience as preceptor/mentor
Skills and Abilities:
