Youth Justice Caseworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children & Young People Caseworker to join our team at New Horizon Youth Centre. As a key member of our Youth Justice team, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality service to young people involved with the criminal justice system or impacted by violence.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver a holistic service to young people, including assessment, planning, and intervention to support their goals and aspirations.
- Manage a caseload of young people, providing regular contact, support, and guidance to help them achieve their goals and live a life away from the criminal justice system.
- Work closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure young people receive a seamless service, including referrals to housing, education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative programs and activities that respond to the changing needs of our clients, promoting their safety and independence.
- Provide expert coaching and guidance to young people, monitoring and evaluating their progress, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Experience working with young people who have experienced violence, trauma, and/or involvement in the criminal justice system.
- Ability to hold and manage a caseload of clients, from assessment and engagement through to maintenance of the relationship.
- Understanding of the kinds of challenging behaviour that clients might demonstrate and the ability to be resilient in crisis situations.
- Knowledge of local and national government policies and housing legislation, particularly in relation to the criminal justice cohort.
- Experience of using IT systems, including databases, to support the achievement of personal and collective work goals.
