Youth Justice Specialist

As a Youth Justice Officer with Social Personnel, you will play a vital role in making a positive impact on the lives of high-risk, complex, and vulnerable children involved in the youth justice system. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that these children receive the right intervention at the right time to achieve and sustain the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and manage caseloads with confidence, utilizing strong engagement skills and creative interventions to support children and their families.
- Develop and implement effective plans to address the needs and risks of adolescents and their families, working collaboratively with multi-agency teams.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, promoting best practice and ensuring that children receive the highest quality support.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training programs, enhancing the capabilities of colleagues and promoting excellence in youth justice practice.
- Advocate for equality and diversity, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity within the organization and the wider community.
- Relevant professional qualification recognized by one of the YJS statutory partner agencies (Social Work, Probation, Education, Health, Police).
- Experience of working with children and families, with a strong understanding of youth justice and child/adolescent behaviour.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, children, and families.
- Ability to write reports and present to a high standard in a Court/formal setting, with a strong understanding of desistance theory and the Good Lives Model.
