Job Title: Children & Young People Caseworker

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Children & Young People Caseworker to join our team at New Horizon Youth Centre. As a key member of our Youth Justice team, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality service to young people involved with the criminal justice system or impacted by violence.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver a holistic service to young people, including assessment, planning, and intervention to support their goals and aspirations.
  • Work closely with young people to identify their needs and develop personalized plans to address their challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery and maximize opportunities for young people.
  • Conduct regular reviews and evaluations to monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and adjust plans as needed.
  • Provide expert coaching and guidance to young people, promoting their independence, self-awareness, and resilience.
  • Stay up-to-date with local and national policies, legislation, and best practices to ensure the highest standards of service delivery.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with young people in the justice system or impacted by violence, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the changing needs of young people and the service.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and best practices, including safeguarding, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
