Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills to join our multidisciplinary Diabetes Team at Scarborough Hospital. The successful candidate will support the management of people with diabetes, both in the hospital outpatients department and demonstrate competency in teaching, supervision of team members, and sharing good practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to promote clinical excellence across the Trust, working jointly with the current lead In-Patient Diabetes Specialist Nurse to deliver and develop the in-patient diabetes service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the co-ordination of in-patient diabetes care, ensuring effective communication at all times.
  • Provide support to qualified and unqualified nurses within the ward/department.
  • Assess the needs of inpatients with diabetes across the Trust, identifying potential and actual problems, and implementing an effective care plan.

Registered Nurse (level 1)

Post registration qualification in specialty

Non-medical prescriber - as determined by the needs of the service
