Senior Care Assistant Opportunity at Sandmere Care Home

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our care team at Sandmere Care Home, a purpose-built facility providing residential care services in Margate, Kent. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their skills and contribute to the delivery of high-quality care.

The role involves coordinating shifts, leading by example, and promoting a positive team culture that supports the well-being of residents and colleagues alike.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate shifts and ensure a smooth operation of the care service.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Welcome visitors and promote our home's facilities and services.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, assessing and addressing resident needs.
  • Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and case notes that reflect residents' individual needs.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and e-learning, driving personal and professional growth.
  • Maintain awareness of Health and Safety policies, escalating concerns to management as necessary.
Requirements:
  • A recognised qualification in Health & Social Care, such as SQV/NVQ Level 3, is essential.
  • Practical Medication Administration with competencies is required.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a focus on person-centred care.
