Job Description

The Youth Support Practitioner will play a vital role in providing accessible support services to children and young people in foster care. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues, agencies, and partners to deliver high-quality support and services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To be an accessible point of contact for children living with our carers, keeping them informed about available facilities and opportunities
  • Supporting interventions and activities to ensure stable placement arrangements
  • Transporting children and young people to events, appointments, and meetings
  • Organizing and participating in virtual and face-to-face events and occasional residential meet-ups
  • Managing all paperwork associated with events and activities
  • Working flexibly according to deadlines and needs of our families
  • Undertaking trauma-informed direct work with children and young people
Main Requirements:
  • A formal qualification in working with children and young people
  • Experience in participation, advocacy, or direct work with young people
  • A good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, and statutory guidance
  • Understanding of child development and the care experience for children and young people
  • Ability to establish constructive relationships with colleagues, agencies, and partners
