Job Summary

Widener University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member for the Institute for Physician Assistant Education. The successful candidate will have experience teaching foundational sciences and/or healthcare education, with a minimum of 3 years of academic teaching and research experience in higher education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses in the PA Program, ensuring current and available course materials for students.
  • Demonstrate teaching competency through supervisor, peer, and student evaluations.
  • Participate in team and interdisciplinary teaching, curriculum development, and faculty development opportunities.
  • Serve as academic advisor and/or mentor for students and/or student organizations.
  • Contribute to scholarship through research, presentations, and/or publications.
  • Participate in service activities, including university, college, and program faculty meetings, student recruitment, and accreditation processes.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one area of physician assistant practice/scientific knowledgebase.
  • Knowledge of working with an interprofessional healthcare team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and written and oral communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduated with a master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred earned doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Academic teaching experience minimum 3 years (5 or more years preferred).
