Job Summary

Widener University is seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join the Institute for Physician Assistant Education. This tenure-track position involves teaching, research, and service responsibilities, with a focus on developing and delivering high-quality educational programs in the physician assistant field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: Develop and teach courses in the PA Program, ensuring that courses and syllabi are current and available to all students. Demonstrate competency in teaching through supervisor, peer, and student evaluations.
  • Scholarship/Practice: Engage in scholarly work related to the area of interest, contributing to scholarship through research, presentations, and/or publications.
  • Service: Participate in university, college, and program faculty meetings, as well as student recruitment and admission activities.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university (doctoral degree preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years of academic teaching experience (5 or more years preferred).
  • Knowledge of physician assistant practice and scientific knowledgebase, as well as working with an interprofessional healthcare team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move about a classroom and/or campus for extended periods.
  • May need to lift supplies of up to 20lbs per item.
