Faculty Position in Physician Assistant Education at Widener University

We are seeking a highly qualified tenure track faculty member for the Institute for Physician Assistant Education at Widener University. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching and research, with experience in foundational sciences and/or healthcare education. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching courses in the PA Program, as well as contributing to scholarship and practice through research, presentations, and publications.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching:

  • Develop and teach courses in the PA Program, ensuring they are current and available to all students.
  • Demonstrate competency in teaching through supervisor, peer, and student evaluations.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, both didactic and clinical.
  • Participate in team and/or interdisciplinary teaching.

Scholarship/Practice:

  • Engage in scholarly work related to area of interest on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to scholarship through research, presentations, and/or publications.
  • Obtain intramural or extramural funding for support of scholarly or other clinical activity as principal investigator.

Service:

  • Participate in all University, College, and Program faculty meetings, as well as university academic events.
  • Assist in the accreditation process, including preparation of documents for accreditation applications, annual reviews, and site visits.
  • Demonstrate the ability to support the mission of Widener University through teaching, clinical assignments, advising, and mentoring of students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of at least one area of physician assistant practice/scientific knowledgebase.
  • Knowledge of working with an interprofessional healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduated with a master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferred earned doctoral degree from an accredited college or university.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Hours:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, and move about a classroom and/or campus for extended periods of time.
  • May need to lift supplies of up to 20lbs per item.
