The Client


Our client is a leading manufacturer of HVAC products in the UK, seeking to expand their team in key areas of the business.


We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to drive forward our client's air source heat pump sector by generating new opportunities with direct installers, merchants, and contractors while also supporting existing accounts in the South of England.



The Role of Business Development Manager


This role will focus on building relationships with new and existing client bases, liaising with customers that spend £50k to £1m per annum.


This person will have the full support of an applications team, order processing team, technical and training support, as well as an award-winning marketing team to provide all necessary resources for success.



Key Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:



  1. Generating opportunities face-to-face, over the phone, and via events to bring on new accounts with the ability to purchase air source heat pumps within an agreed period.
  2. Mapping out a region or industry to target key customers and contacts with a goal of bringing on new business that purchases air source heat pumps.
  3. Attending pre-booked new business meetings.
  4. Account management - Build relationships with existing accounts to ensure they receive the best possible service and increase account spend year-on-year.
  5. Speaking with installers, M&E businesses, FM's, Renewables businesses, and more about Midea's winning solution.
  6. Record all activity on a database that can be uploaded to our new CRM.
  7. Other activities as agreed with line manager, including involvement with training events and marketing campaigns.


Person Specification



  1. Good technical understanding of the Air Source Heat Pump & HVAC market, including the Client's and competitors' products.
  2. Comfortable and motivated to actively make outbound calls to win more business.
  3. Able to develop new business opportunities organically.
  4. Understanding of HVAC market trends and clients' changing needs.
  5. Experience of submitting detailed customer business case proposals to line management.
  6. Experience working within the Air Conditioning / HVAC / Air Source Heat Pump industry.
