H9 Technical Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join their team at their EfW plant in Runcorn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing site EHS matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements, planning permissions, and environmental permit conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assisting in the management of environmental responsibilities in compliance with environmental permits and licenses
  2. Monitoring and managing site-level compliance with relevant ISO quality standards
  3. Providing health and safety procedures for the O&M team
  4. Investigating and reporting site accidents and incidents, implementing procedural improvements
  5. Liaising with the site management team on potential breaches or risks to the environment
  6. Ensuring site compliance with industry standards and guidelines like PRRS, LOLER, PUWER, and COSHH
  7. Liaising with governing bodies related to the site environmental permit
Requirements:
  • Degree/HND/HNC in environmental science, chemistry, or similar field
  • NEBOSH/IOSH certification or proven experience in H&S management
  • Experience in waste management, energy from waste, or power industry in a relevant role
  • Experience dealing with external bodies like the Environment Agency
  • Familiarity with CEMS and various ISO standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001)

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
