About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Palliative Care Physician to join our team at Barts Health NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Consultant care to patients in the Margaret Centre Specialist Palliative Care Unit and the Community Palliative Care Team in Waltham Forest.

This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly across the trust, providing excellent palliative care to the people of East London.

The post offers a range of benefits, including the opportunity to work part-time or job share, and to provide sessions to Waltham Forest Community Team and to the Margaret Centre until the hospital is redeveloped.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with the local and existing wider teams in providing inpatient and outpatient management for patients with palliative care needs, and to participate in the associated teaching programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Consultant care to patients in the Margaret Centre Specialist Palliative Care Unit and the Community Palliative Care Team in Waltham Forest.
  • Work flexibly across the trust, providing excellent palliative care to the people of East London.
  • Participate in the associated teaching programmes and work with the local and existing wider teams.

Person Specification

  • MRCP or Equivalent Specialist qualification.
  • Full GMC Registration with license to practice.
  • Experience in the management of resources and evidence of experience in Specialist Palliative Care in different settings.
