Sustainable Diets Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a policy tool called a Nutrient and Environment Profiling Model (NEPM), which aims to support national and local policies for healthy and sustainable diets.
About the Role
As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for developing algorithms to identify healthy and/or sustainable foods, testing these against the subjective judgments of a working group of policymakers, and presenting results at project meetings and in reports. You will also contribute to the co-design of the NEPM tool and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure its effective implementation. This role requires strong quantitative analysis skills and experience working on projects related to healthy and sustainable diets.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and refine algorithms for identifying healthy and sustainable food options
* Collaborate with policymakers to test and validate algorithmic outputs
* Present results at project meetings and in reports
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the NEPM tool
Requirements
* PhD in population health or a related field, or equivalent experience
* Strong quantitative analysis skills
* Experience working on projects related to healthy and sustainable diets
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Working Arrangements
This position is based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Radcliffe Primary Care Building, Woodstock Road, Oxford. Regular remote working arrangements can be discussed with your line manager. The salary for this role is £45,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
