Head of Category - Health Category

Cedar Recruitment is supporting a Public Sector organisation in hiring a Strategic Category Leader for their Health category, a key role that requires visionary leadership and expertise.

This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range up to £80,000, plus additional benefits and perks.

  • Work from home with occasional on-site presence for key meetings
  • Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be an active member of the organisation's Leadership Team

As Strategic Category Leader, you will lead, manage and develop the Health category team to achieve high standards of team performance and collaboration.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of delivery to the category
  • Act as a Category Expert and support team members and stakeholders

You will drive a high-performing team and oversee the implementation of transformational activities to improve service offerings and deliver ongoing value.

  • Develop positive professional relationships and work collaboratively across the business
  • Implement solutions to continually improve service offerings and deliver ongoing value
Requirements:
  • MCIPS qualification or alternative comparable qualification
  • Strong experience working in a similar role, covering roles in Healthcare Procurement, in the UK Public Sector
  • Strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement Regulations (PCR2015)
  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of Category Management principles and implementing Procurement/Sourcing strategies at a Regional or National level
