Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Category Management Lead to join our team at Novax Recruitment. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading and managing assigned categories, developing progressive partnerships, and achieving community benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with corporate ambitions.
  • Procurement Project Management: Enable procurement project and category management requirements, ensuring third-party arrangements deliver challenging corporate objectives.
  • Stakeholder Management: Formulate direction and advice, manage change, and lead and influence internal and external stakeholders in all matters related to procurement, category management, and supply.
  • Legislative Compliance: Oversee procurement project and category management within legislative and governance frameworks.
  • Category Expertise: Demonstrate a full understanding of categories, including issues, risks, complexities, spend, potential efficiencies, and income generation.
  • Public Sector Experience: Recent experience in large and complex public sector environments (ideally local authorities).
  • Risk Management: Experienced in identifying and discussing effective management and mitigation of risk.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in strategic category management and procurement project management.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work within legislative and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recent experience in public sector environments.
