Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Category Management Lead to join our team at Novax Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing a category of products or services, developing strategic partnerships, and achieving community benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to a team of category managers, ensuring the successful execution of category strategies and plans.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers, stakeholders, and other external partners to drive business growth and community benefits.
  • Procurement Project Management: Manage procurement projects and category management requirements, ensuring that third-party arrangements deliver corporate ambitions.
  • Change Management: Formulate direction and advice, manage change, and lead and influence both internal and external stakeholders in all matters related to procurement, category management, and supply.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure that procurement project and category management activities are conducted within legislative and governance frameworks.
  • Category Expertise: Demonstrate a full understanding of the category, including issues, risks, complexities, spend, potential efficiencies, income generation, etc.
  • Public Sector Experience: Have recent public sector experience in a large and complex environment, ideally in a local authority.
  • Risk Management: Be experienced in identifying and discussing effective management and mitigation of risk.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
