Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category management strategies to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to achieve procurement project and category management requirements.
  • Formulate direction and advice on procurement and category management matters, managing change and influencing stakeholders.
  • Oversight of procurement project and category management within legislative and governance frameworks.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the category, including issues, risks, complexities, spend, potential efficiencies, and income generation.

Requirements:

  • MCIPS or equivalent qualification.
  • Recent public sector experience in a large and complex environment, ideally in a local authority.
  • Experience working at a Head or Deputy Head level, leading strategic negotiations with significant partners.
  • Ability to identify and discuss effective management and mitigation of risk.
