Financial Leadership Opportunity

£65,000 | Flexible

Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking a highly experienced Financial Controller to provide temporary support due to a planned absence.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Director and stakeholders to maintain day-to-day financial operations and contribute to the development of the corporate strategy.
  • Provide strategic and operational guidance on a range of commercial issues.
  • Lead the Senior Management Team and Commercial Team in financial decision-making.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month and year-end closing data in line with company reporting deadlines.
  • Develop and implement effective financial management practices, including cash flow management and contract cash flow tracking.
  • Compile and analyze data for budget and forecast preparation.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all tax requirements, including PAYE, CIS, VAT, and Corporation Tax.
  • Review and maintain effective controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure accurate and timely statutory reporting, with ownership of the year-end audit.
  • Develop strong relationships with customers and sub-contractors.
  • Lead or participate in special projects as required.
  • Identify and implement operating efficiencies and promote continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
  • Proven management experience in a commercial environment.
  • Experience in presenting financial information at senior levels.
  • Proven organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Preferably with construction and ERP experience.
