The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House is an independent charity that provides end-of-life and bereavement care to patients and their families. We are committed to delivering high-quality care and support, and we are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Voluntary Services Coordinator.

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and flexible individual to develop, support, and grow our volunteer workforce. As a Voluntary Services Coordinator, you will play a key role in promoting and identifying opportunities for volunteering, recruiting and training volunteers, and ensuring that our volunteer database is up-to-date and accurate.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans to fill gaps in volunteering opportunities, in collaboration with managers and external partners.
  • Compile volunteer role descriptions and review them periodically to ensure they remain accurate.
  • Recruit, interview, assess, and place volunteers according to their skills and experience.
  • Ensure volunteers undergo an appropriate recruitment and selection process prior to placement.
  • Maintain the Volunteer database, ensuring all information is kept up-to-date and recorded correctly.
  • Provide general administrative support to voluntary services, including data entry and the use of word and excel.
  • Provide relevant information and statistics necessary for monitoring and reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Support the Voluntary Services Manager with the arranging of meetings/events for volunteers.
  • Ensure volunteers are aware of relevant policy procedures.
  • Ensure volunteers receive regular communication and updates on Hospice news.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Proven administration experience.
  • Experience of working with volunteers or experience of being a volunteer.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Experience of dealing with confidential information.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience of maintaining databases and producing reports.
