Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Voluntary Services Coordinator to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing, supporting, and growing our volunteer workforce, ensuring that our strategic objectives are met.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement plans to identify and fill volunteer opportunities, working closely with teams and external partners.
- Compile and review volunteer role descriptions to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Recruit, interview, and place volunteers based on their skills and experience, providing training and support as needed.
- Ensure volunteers undergo a thorough recruitment and selection process, including DBS checks and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records and databases, providing regular reports and statistics as required.
- Provide administrative support, including data entry and word processing.
- Develop and deliver induction courses, training, and other support to volunteers.
- Ensure volunteers are aware of relevant policies and procedures, and receive regular communication and updates.
- Coordinate the Hospice's annual Thank You to Volunteers event, working closely with the Voluntary Services Manager and Fundraising Team.
- Proven administration experience, with a focus on volunteer management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Experience of dealing with confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting, or a similar environment.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, with a focus on Excel and Word.
