Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated physiotherapist to lead our paediatric haemophilia physiotherapy service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for managing the service and caseload, providing high-quality advanced therapy assessment, treatment, and advice to patients with complex presentations.

You will work closely with our Paediatric Haemophilia Consultant and other specialists to plan and manage episodes of care, optimising health outcomes and providing direct support to patients and carers. Your leadership role will involve supervising and teaching therapists and multidisciplinary team staff across the Southern Haemophilia network.

Main Duties
  1. Lead and manage the paediatric haemophilia physiotherapy service and caseload, providing high-quality advanced therapy assessment, treatment, and advice to patients with complex presentations.
  2. Work closely with the Paediatric Haemophilia Consultant and other specialists to plan and manage episodes of care, optimising health outcomes and providing direct support to patients and carers.
  3. Supervise and teach therapists and multidisciplinary team staff across the Southern Haemophilia network.
  4. Monitor standards of practice, implementing policy and policy changes in own clinical area, informed by current best practice and evidence-base.
  5. Undertake quality improvement projects to further team and departmental clinical practice and service development.

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

  • HCPC registration
  • Physiotherapist BSC(Hons) or MSc in Physiotherapy
  • Post Graduate Courses both paediatric specific and relevant to the clinical specialty

Desirable criteria:

  • Recognised post-graduate qualification e.g. MSc or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience of Haemophilia pathophysiology and complete patient management
  • 3 years minimum experience in paediatric MSK/ orthopaedics
  • Multidisciplinary team working in an NHS setting
  • Student supervision/clinical education
