We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Workshop Specialist to join our team at Simpson Booth Limited. As an Electrical Workshop Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of our electrical equipment, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, including testing and fault diagnosis.
- Conduct inventory checks and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and stored.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of electrical systems, ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the workshop team to ensure that all work areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to ensure compliance with company health and safety policies.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of electrical systems and equipment, including 3-phase electrical switchgear and hydraulic power units.
- Assist in the development and implementation of electrical maintenance procedures and protocols.
- Perform other related duties as required, including assisting in the training of new staff members.
- Industrial electrical experience, preferably with voltages up to 440 Volts AC.
- Understanding of 3-phase electrical switchgear, including fault diagnosis.
- Build and test of 3-phase electrical panels.
- Experience of hydraulic power units, including testing and fault diagnosis of electrical components.
- Good standard of practical application and knowledge of electrical/electronic principles and components.
- Able to assemble, test, and maintain electrical/electronic systems, components, and circuitry following engineering instructions, technical manuals, and drawings.
- Good understanding of problem-solving and capable of identifying and rectifying problems with electronic/electrical systems.
- Able to read, comprehend, and follow wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, OEM manuals, and engineering instructions.
- Aware of principles, techniques, procedures, and the use of equipment required for the repair and maintenance of various ROV and associated sub-systems.
- ONC/HNC/Apprenticeship/City and Guilds within an electronic/electrical discipline.
- Time-served industry experience within an electronic/electrical role.
- Recognized high-voltage training, high-voltage switchgear awareness.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Customer-focused.
- Good organizational skills.
- Logical mindset.
- Ability to work well as a team member.
