Aseptic Services Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aseptic Services Technician to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective preparation and dispensing of high-risk injectable medicines.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Aseptic Services Team in the effective and day-to-day running of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit (PASU).
- Assist with all aspects of pharmacy requirements, including handling, receipting, dispensing, aseptic preparation, drug accountability, storage, and disposal.
- Complete pre and in-process checks of aseptically prepared products and supervise operators within the cleanroom once full training has been received.
- Follow department standard operating procedures, ensuring all activities are in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
As a member of our team, you will be working in a dynamic multidisciplinary environment to deliver a high-quality chemotherapy service to our cancer patients. This role will involve supporting the transition of the service through a period of strategic change from entirely outsourced to a mixed service of outsourced plus in-house compounding of high-risk injectable medicines.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent, plus accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent).
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Basic knowledge and experience of pharmacy, working within a team, and managing own workload to meet the needs of a service.
